FLUSHING COOLING SYSTEM: Now I'll show you how to flush your cooling system. Flushing the cooling system in your car is a yearly event that you can do easily in your own back yard. All you'll need is a hose, a couple of gallons of coolant and a pair of pliers. First thing you'll need to do is remove the valve at the bottom of the radiator. This allows the coolant to escape from the radiator. Once this has begun, remove the radiator cap slowly and carefully, especially if the motor has been running and insert the garden hose into the top of the radiator. Turn the garden hose on at a rate that roughly matches the speed at which the coolant is coming out of the bottom. Start your motor and within 5 or 10 minutes, you'll notice that the coolant coming out of the bottom is now as clear as the water going in. At this point, turn your car off, remove the garden hose, replace the valve and add a 50/50 mix of coolant and water into the top of the radiator. Remember to replace the radiator cap when full.
